In this assignment, my class and I picked up trash around the school. My teacher for this assignment was Ms. Danielle and Mr. Jerry. The 21st Century Skill I used was Civic Literacy and Engagement. I used this skill by helping out the community and cleaning up trash. What I'm most proud of is that I got to help out the community, and the earth. I developed this skill by getting physical and engaging with the school community. The most difficult part was dealing with the wind constantly blowing my hair in my face. if I could start over on this assignment, I wouldn't change anything. I would just do the same thing because that seemed to work. How this relates to something I've done before is that, in 4th grade I had to pick up trash. I can apply this to future learning by cleaning more places and racking up my community engagement hours.
In this assignment I had to go to the beach to collect driftwood for our school compost. My teacher for this assignment was Ms.Ford. The 21st century skill I used was global awareness. I used this skill by helping out my community outside of my neighborhood by providing driftwood for the school compost. What I'm most proud of is that by me helping collect drift wood I supplied more material for the compost. I developed this skill by really taking my talents outside of my neighborhood to help out the school community. The most difficult part was probably just staying motivated to getting drift wood in the sun, since it was hot. If I could start over on this assignment I wouldn't do anything different. I picked up a fair amount of wood. This doesn't really relate to anything I've done in the past before, school wise. I can use what I've learned in this assignment for future wood collecting.
